… but who’s counting?
I am already feeling the crunch. Are you? You know that feeling that comes when you are nearing the end of the first half of the school year, when Thanksgiving holiday and Christmas are upon you. The time when we all dream of doing pre-holiday cleaning and creating a Norman Rockwell setting right in our own living room. I have never really been quite able to handle anything quite that magnificent and, frankly, I no longer feel the need to be perfect. But, I do know that in the coming weeks, I will likely have less time to devote to my blog. One of the things I want to do is to have a Jesse Tree this year. I love the idea; I didn’t really like the content. The readings are very long. The people highlighted aren’t even all listed in the geneology of Jesus. So, I have some creative work to do. While the final product may be blog-worthy, most of the drafts will not be.
I thought about announcing a blog break, but I decided no. I will still blog when I have time; I just don’t want to pressure myself to produce something profound every day or even every other day. I also don’t want my regular readers to click into and load my blog only to find out that I am virtual slacker ~ you know cleaning, finishing the first half of our curriculum by January, giving my daughter equal access to the computer so that she can finish her online driver’s education class or working to decrease the height of the stack of books that are in my must read pile instead of writing something for you all to read.
When I first started blogging, going out and checking on whether or not other people had updated their blog took a lot of time. But, let’s face it; part of the fun of blogging is forming virtual friendships. I think I would have given up if I hadn’t learned about feed readers. What a tremendous time saver!
So, this entry is to encourage any of you who don’t use a feed reader to consider this option. The video linked below explains how they work and includes the most commonly available feed readers.

You are the one that introduced me to feed readers way back when. You saved me from giving up on blogging all together.
Enjoy the cleaning and preparations. Some of my best blogging comes from times like these, when I am doing tasks that take less thought. My mind wanders to all the deep things it is normally too busy to rest upon.
Sounds like the Jesse Tree will take good, deep study though. I’m sure you will enjoy that.

I have to admit that I’m glad you’re not taking a total blog break, but totally understand that mounting stress-out feeling.
Enjoy the Jesse Tree and please blog about your progress when you can.

drat - I can’t edit my comments. Did you get my email?
.
Debbi, I just thought today when I titled this blog entry that we must have “known” each other almost a year. I found you on HSB when you were starting your Nativity Fast. I haven’t gotten an email from you today… unless you count the ones that told me you had left a comment on my blog. Did you send it to my embarqmail account? We no longer have hughes.net.

Julie - I was thinking the same thing about knowing each other a year just the other day! I sent you an email to your gmail account this past weekend (at least I’m pretty sure it was your account….LOL).
.
Debbi, I don’t have a gmail account. You can resend the message to my email.

LOL! I wonder which “Julie” I sent that email too? Good thing it wasn’t too personal!

I love Bloglines!
I haven’t been on my blog so much this month either. The NaNo thing is really heating up for Sarah and me and it’s all I can do to do that and do the other stuff around the house that I need to do.
Have a good week, Julie!
