The tornado sirens blared. The hail started. From the safety of the basement I waited out the storm. When the tornado warning expired, I walked around and assessed the damage. The family is all safe and sound. The house and cars didn’t sustain any noticeable damage. Hail and plants don’t mix.
We still have plenty of rhubarb! I feel so bad for my husband. I always wrote that we had a garden, but the garden is his baby. He has worked so hard. I hope that some of the plants will recover.

I’m glad none of you were hurt! We had sirens blaring last night…at bedtime. Kids with anxiety issues and sirens at bedtime does not a pleasant evening make.

It’s so hard when you can’t protect everything! Like Kari said, I’m glad you all are ok.

I’m thankful your family is unhurt, too. And hoping some sunshine will straighten the plants for your Hubby as a Father’s Day gift!

Oh no!
We didn’t get the hail , but we got some pretty nasty rain/wind. Your poor DH. I pray the plants recover. ( and if it makes you feel any better…my peonies look like that regardless.) :-S
I had to laugh at your laundry room comments. I’ve been begging Dh for a first-floor laundry room for years just so I can spread the laundry out on the kitchen floor and get to it all at once instead of the ‘out of sight/out of mind’ problem I have with it in the basement. I forget to do it until we’re out of one thing or another.

Wow. I’d be so scared during a tornado alert.
Those are big hailstones. Poor garden.
