Comment Policy:
Proverbs 27:17 testifies to the truth that, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens the other.” I welcome the opportunity to be sharpened and held accountable by others.
I am not an expert on theology or biblical exegesis and I recognize the right of others to put forward ideas that are different from my own. It is my prayer that we can respectfully discuss issues and ideas without attacking other people.
I further recognize that while on the Internet, I have lost my best communication tool: nonverbal communication. It is my intent to come across as respectful, approachable and friendly. Before choosing to publish your comment, please make sure that your words represent you well.
While WordPress does an admirable job of blocking spam comments, I have found that I still occasionally have spam posted to my blog. I have had to apply the following restrictions to comments to this blog:
- The first time you comment on my blog, your comment will be held for moderation until I have time to approve it.
- I will not approve comments that are commercial in nature or comments requesting me and my readers send money.
- Linking to a commercial site is by far the most common type of spam that others attempt to post to my blog; therefore, comments that contain hyperlinks will be held until I have time to approve them.
- Legitimate comments that include links to commercial sites will be removed. I don’t use my blog for financial gain and you can’t either.
Your Privacy:
- I will not approve comments without a valid e-mail address.
- From time to time, I will offer my readers the opportunity to participate in a contest hosted by this blog site. A valid email address is required to notify the contest winner. If you win, I will need your shipping address.
-
I will never publish or share your personal information.
Internet Links:
I often include hyperlinks to other blogs and Internet pages.
-
I will make every attempt to make sure that links work at the time an entry is posted. If you find a broken link, please let me know.
-
Since a site’s Home Page often contains specific information governing site usages, whenever I link to a website, in addition to a link to the specific information I am interested in sharing with my reader, I will link to the sites Home Page.
- If you have visited a site linked from this blog and find content that is inappropriate or offensive, please contact me via my email address so that I may evaluate your concerns.
Tag/Meme Policy:
When I began blogging, I enjoyed many, many tags and memes. I have come to realize that tags and memes work how chain letters are promised to work. I tag 5 (or 6, 7 or 9) people and then they tag five people… and eventually, my investment is multiplied and comes back to me.
As I participated in tags and tagging, I was the recipient of tags. They would sit in my list of things to do and beckon. In my mind I realized that the person who tagged me had answered the last tag I had tagged them with. I would make time to answer, but I answered at the expense of journaling. I believe there are huge benefits to journaling. Writing my thoughts forces me to critically analyze them. It increases my focus. God’s hand is revealed as I look back over past posts and find resolution of problems that I imagined were too big to solve. The writings and thoughts of other bloggers plants seeds and encourage me to grow in new areas.
Therefore, from here on out, I am going to refrain from participating in any type of blog ‘awards’. I REALLY want the honor and the Glory to go to The Lord. Not me. I am just an ordinary, less-than-perfect, mom (both in real life and on my blog) who is trying to do the best I can, by the grace of God. At times I can be a good writer, a good listener, a good encourager, or a good friend …. but that is only because of who I am in Christ. Without Him I am nothing…and the Glory should go to Him! ~ Michelle at At Home With Jesus
Since tags/memes interfere with my primary purpose for blogging, I have made a decision not to tag. Often, there will be a fun tag or meme going around blogosphere that I choose to do, but I won’t ask others to do it also. Since I desire to glorify God and not man, I will not participate in blog awards.
Thanks you for respecting my on-line time ~
Personal:
While I try to be honest with my readers, this blog will not be used to outline every stressor in my life.
- I believe that my husband and I are mystically united as one flesh. I will consistently honor him in my writing.
- I will be discerning in sharing prayer requests. I will not ask for prayer for another individual on my public blog unless I have personally spent time in prayer regarding the issue and I have the permission of the individual to do so.
- While I participate in blogging, I am not a blogger. I am first and foremost a daughter of the King of kings. I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt and a friend. I purpose to write in ways that honor those relationships.
- If upon reflection, I determine that I have written something that is morally and ethically problematic, I will delete the entry and apologize to my readers.
- I will attempt to write everything as if it were being published and cannot be altered. However, I do sometimes go back and edit posts. Sometimes, I find a typographical or spelling error that I cannot live with. I have needed to go back in to edit a link. Other times, I will edit the text to add new thought. When I add new thoughts, I will indicate that the post was, “Edited to add.”
- An exception to the above: Tabbed pages (including blog policies, information about FASD and Haiti, Homes School, Our Plan and even Who Am I) represent working documents and may change as needs and circumstances change.
- I will make every effort to cite original sources and to credit those people who have been instrumental in helping me to see a topic with clarity.
- I will make every effort to treat my virtual friends as if they were friends IRL

Shabbat Shalom, Julie! I jumped over to your site after reading your comment on Lisa’s site regarding Messianic congregations. Then, I saw your post here. Our family has been contemplating a blog, but I have been a little nervous about doing it, because I don’t want all those above-mentioned things to happen. I, too, am not a scholar, but am learning. I hope it’s okay if I copy and paste your info into a document and may use it in the future as a disclaimer like you have. I never knew about the Christian Internet Code of Ethics and will check that out too.
Thank you! You don’t have to post this, I just wanted to “talk”.

Was really blessed by the honesty in your blog.
We are considering homeschooling our daughter in the UK; she has FAS too.
Blessings to you, Julia
